You have things to do. We know. You don’t want to commit to something you can’t finish. Perfectly understandable. You don’t even know what you would do if you did volunteer at the Cortland County Historical Society. Well, there we can help.
We have lots of projects in need of willing hands and we bet you have the talents to help. If you are reading this, you probably have some interest in history. Well, there are many archival projects you could join, like digitizing old photographs or transcribing nineteenth century diaries. If you like technology, we have exciting new projects for our website. Maybe you are more of an outdoorsy person. How about helping tend the Society’s flowerbeds? Looking for an outlet for your creative self? Help design and construct new exhibits in the Suggett House Museum. A people person? Maybe you’d want to give tours or welcome visitors to the Research Center and get them settled? If you have enthusiasm, we always can use help with fundraising. Are you good with a hammer and nails? Well, have we got some projects for you!
We love volunteers. In fact we could not survive without volunteers. So join us for a one-time gig. Or maybe you have an hour to share once a month or once a week. Whatever level of commitment you can offer, we can match your talents with our needs. You win by sharing yourself to better our community. We win by moving forward the Society’s mission as a creative cultural institution in Cortland. Win - win. Yeah us! Let’s get started.
